Understanding Barriers
If done safely, every person with diabetes can benefit from exercise. However, many people find it hard to exercise regularly. Some problems are specific to diabetes, while others are about finding the time and energy to exercise. Below, we have created a word cloud showing the common barriers that may stop many people from participating in physical activity Brazeau AS, Mircescu H, Desjardins K, Dubé MC, Weisnagel SJ, Lavoie C, Rabasa-Lhoret R. Choosing your device to fit your activity levels is an incredibly personal decision. Here is some wisdom from others:
I didn't want to have any extra tubes hanging off my body when I performed physical fitness activities. These two (Dexcom & Omnipod 5) seemed like the most streamlined options.

When people ask me about my devices, I tell them. They're really cool!

I like the pump, but you still have to be smarter than the pump to avoid lows when exercising. I tried exercise mode, eating carbs first, etc, but it just doesn't allow for spontaneity like using Lantus does. For me, I cannot have any rapid-acting IOB when I start moving.
